| Description |
English: Assamese Women are brave ,friendly and welcoming towards guests . They are beautiful despite of any age. This picture was taken to represent the Assamese Women. It doesn't matter if they are suffering from any problems or not. But if you ask them for help, they will definitely come forward and offer their services and hospitality. I was capturing different aspects of Assamese society through my camera for the "Assamese Wikipedia Photography Competition" . I gave them detailed explanation of my purpose for asking help and their response was affirmative. But why I captured this woman's portrait is because when I was doing my work she came near me and asked , "Maa, will we get any economic aid if you post our photos?" . Her this sentence touched my heart . I have been seeing these groups of elderly women working very hard just to earn their two times breads . So, when I went to take photos while they were working ,maybe I showed them a little hope . I didn't have any answer to this question so I replied I would try. And then I took her photo as a reminder so that I can help them in future. This group of women have inspired me to do a little bit of extra hard work . |
