| Description |
English: Athina B Memorial. See 658942. The ship ran aground in early 1980 having failed to enter Shoreham Harbour due to force 8 winds then had the crew evacuated when the engines cut out and then drifted to this point before beaching. It stayed a month before being towed away and broken up. It briefly became a tourist attraction with many travelling to see it. The anchor was given to the town and built into a memorial near the spot where it ran aground. |
