English: Atkonarayan's temple on the left side of the road from Maru Ganesh in Kathmandu to Chikamugal. This pagoda style temple is very attractive as well as artistic. The temple has an attractive black stone statue of Narayan about 3 feet high. It is mentioned that this temple was built by King Shiv Singh Malla and Ganga Rani Devi. This temple of Narayan is also called Chiranjeevi Narayan. There is a popular belief that visiting the Narayan of this state is like visiting the four Narayans. Devotees flock to this temple to worship. There are idols of various deities including Buddha in this temple premises. |
