Description
English: Typical landscape in a floodplain of river Lauchert, Swabian Alb. The river banks are often edged by Populus trees, the fertil grounds are always well cultivated.
Deutsch: Flussaue der Lauchert, Schwäbische Alb, am "Stettener Umlaufberg" zwischen Veringenstadt und Veringendorf.
Im Holozän wurden in diesem bis 500m breiten, gut 1,5km langen Tal über der Felssohle bis zu 15m fluviatile Sedimente abgelagert („in häufigem Wechsel Lagen und Linsen aus schluffig-tonigem, kiesigem Material, zunehmend sandiger und auch zementierter Kalktuff“). Die darüber befindlichen sehr fruchtbaren humosen Auenböden werden landwirtschaftlich intensiv genutzt.
