| Description |
English: Aymestrey Mill The mill was rebuilt after a fire in the 1870's and continued in use right up to about twenty years ago, when it was milling animal food. The undershot wheel has been renovated and the sluices are in good working order, powered via the leat from the Lugg weir half-a-mile upstream. The mill has had its own turbine producing electricity for domestic use since 1980. From the lane, the mill wheel is not visible, being at the other side of the mill house at the back, but under cover at the front is a Marshall thrashing machine just crying out for restoration. |
