Description
English: MK 117 Jato Boosters Propell a BQM-74E aerial target off the deck of the US Navy's oliver hazard perry class frigate, USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG 32) in preparation of gunnery exercise during UNITAS 37-96. The target can simulate aircraft or cruise missiles in a variety of threat profiles. Fleet Composited Squadron Six (FLECOMPRON SIX) aerial target detachment two homeported in Dam Neck, Virginia, are providing threat simulation services for units participating in this years UNITAS exercises. UNITAS is an annual operation in which a US Navy task group conduct combined exercises with participating navies. The task group for UNITAS 37-96 include the frigate USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG 32), tank landing ship USS LA MOURE COUNTY (LST 1194) (not shown) and the attack submarine USS NARWHAL (SSN 671) (not shown).
