NPS/Patrick Myers Though not common at Great Sand Dunes, bald eagles are sometimes seen in cottonwood trees and wetland areas west of the dunefield. This bald eagle was warming herself on a chilly spring morning, with a pose reminiscent of an eagle at the top of an American flagpole. |
