| Description |
English: Battersea: London Heliport Helicopter operations started here in 1959, and it is now the only CAA approved heliport in London. It serves both the business community and the emergency services. The heliport has changed hands on several occasions, most recently from Harrods to Westland Aviation in 2003, and then in 2007 from Westland to von Essen hotels, with the contract for operating the heliport being awarded to PremiAir Aviation Group.
Current fees are £550 per landing and then £300 per hour for parking... Here a helicopter comes into land. The swans by the slipway at the foot of the landing pier are obviously unperturbed. Wandsworth Bridge is in the distance. |
