Description
Deutsch: Wirtschaftsteil eines alten, aufgegebenen Bauernhofes, Oberes Schmiechtal, direkt an der nach Böttingen (6,2 km) führenden Straße. Vom Bauernhof sind rechts der Stall, links der Geräte- und Fruchtspeicher und davor ein Teil des Bauerngartens und des Misthaufentrogs zu sehen. Diese Gebäude und das Wohnhaus, sowie mehrere Gebäude eines noch bäuerlich/traditionell bewirtschafteten Bauernhofs, eine Sägerei und mehrere verfallene Wassermühlen bilden den Flecken „Springen“ im schmalen Schmiechtal, in unmittelbarer Nähe der Karstquelle, Schmiech-Ursprung. Der mit Wald oder Wacholderheiden bewachsene Nordosthang des Tals (hinter Bach, Straße und dem Betrachter) ist ein seit 2001 ausgewiesenes Naturschutzgebiet „Oberes Schmiechtal“. Die beiden alten Bauernhöfe mussten sich schon immer mit der Bewirtschaftung der wenigen Flächen der Schmiech-Aue begnügen.

English: Settlement „Springen“, Upper Schmiechtal, next to the large karst spring “Schmiech-Ursprung”. There are the two farms, a saw mill and several water mills, all, but one farm abandoned. The northeast slope of the valley above and below the settlement is covered by woods and Juniper Heaths and since 2001 protected as Naturschutzgebiet “Oberes Schmiechtal”. The fertile farmland was no more than a few fields in the valley bottom.
