| Description |
English: A participant at the United Nations Environment Assembly Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, stares at a message (which is a running theme throughout the conference) at the United Nations Environment Programme grounds in Nairobi. This work of art is made up of metal framing and wire mesh, filled with discarded water bottles, used beer and soda cans as well as cell phone parts and all manner of plastics. The irony in this photo lies in the fact that this participant appears to contradict a clear message he is looking at, with a plume of cigarette smoke is coming out of his mouth, never mind the fact that pollution was a major topic throughout the conference. And this scene is playing out on UNEP's grounds of all places. |
