Summary[edit]
DescriptionBeautiful early 1860s wet plate collodion portrait of lady 2.jpg |
Français : Stunning, stunning, stunning!
I usually wait for other people's comments and opinions, but this has to be my favourite discovery in a long long time. It came to me in a very mixed batch of glass plate negatives bought at auction, but most others were early 20th century. But as soon as I saw this pair of negatives (see also www.flickr.com/photos/whatsthatpicture/4984137358/ ) I knew they were good, and especially this one. And then getting it scanned and inverted it just got better! OK, maybe I'm getting over excited, but would love to hear what others think. One of a pair of wonderful wet plate collodion negatives measuring 5" x 4". Both are taken against the same wall with tree, but rather different in composition, a different subject, and with a cloth hung over the tree in one case. They are estimated to be early 1860s. |
