English: The saffron finch scientific name is Sicalis flaveola. They have black maxilla upper beaks, pale mandible lower beaks, greenish yellow back, yellow underparts, black lined wing and tail feathers with yellow and dark pink legs. They are normally found in grasslands and bushy areas. They are garden birds through out their nature range and they are also a common pet bird. They are difficult for the untrained eye but females usually have darker and more pronounced black streaking on the back and are slightly smaller than males.
