| Description |
English: I saw Bebenhausen castle on my first trip with my new 1960 Volkswagen. It had been part of a monastery. After Napoleon dissolved the monastery (and other monasteries in territories that he controlled), the newly promoted King Friedrich I of Württemberg converted part of it to a hunting castle (Jagdschloss). I took delivery of my new VW on Friday, June 3, after a wait of almost six months. The first thing I did was drive on the road east from Heilbronn to Weinsberg, to get used to the car and its four-speed transmission. That was easier than I had expected. |
