Omschrijving: Almanak voor het jaar 1858. Centraal een spotprent op het (Belgische) ultramontanisme (pausgezindheid). Op een weegschaal weegt de Bijbel (van Calvijn en Luther) zwaarder dan de paus, kardinaal, bisschop, monnik en non met al hun attributen plus de hulp van de duivel. Onderaan teksten over de 'weegschaal van den leugen' en de 'weegschaal der waarheid'. Links en rechts kolommen met de dagen van de maand met bijbehorende heiligen.
