Description
Deutsch: Das Königliche Opernhaus in Berlin, heute Staatsoper Unter den Linden, im Jahr 1773. Links die Hedwigskirche, im Vordergrund die hölzerne Neustädtische Brücke über den alten Festungsgraben, die man 1774 durch die steinerne Opernbrücke ersetzte (die selbst 1817 abgerissen wurde). Rechts der Seitenflügel des Palais Schwedt, der 1774 für den Neubau der Königlichen Bibliothek (heute Alte Bibliothek) beseitigt wurde. Radierung von Johann Georg Rosenberg.
English: The Royal Opera House in Berlin, now State Opera Unter den Linden, in 1773. The St. Hedwig's Church can be seen on the left. The bridge in the foreground is the wooden Neustädtische Brücke over the old moat, replaced in 1774 with the stone Opera Bridge, which was demolished in 1817. On the right, the side wing of Palais Schwedt, replaced in 1774 with Royal Library (now called Old Library). Etching by Johann Georg Rosenberg.
