Description
Deutsch: Wohn- und Geschäftshaus Hedemannstraße 25 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Das Gebäude wurde als Teil eines 1914-1915 von Johannes Kraaz errichteten Komplexes erbaut, der ursprünglich den ganzen Straßenabschnitt zwischen Friedrichstraße und Wilhelmstraße einnahm und als frühes Beispiel einer einheitlichen Straßenbebauung in Berlin galt. An der Nordseite der Straße ist nur der abgebildete Bauteil erhalten, an der Südseite aber ein deutlich größerer Teil. Die erhaltenen Teile des Komplexes sind als Gesamtanlage denkmalgeschützt.
English: Residential and commercial building Hedemannstraße No. 25 in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The building was constructed as part of a complex built from 1914 to 1915 by Johannes Kraaz that originally occupied the whole segment of the street between Friedrichstraße and Wilhelmstraße and was considered an early example of a coherent development of a street in Berlin. On the northern side of Hedemannstraße, the pictured building is actually the only preserved part, but a much larger segment still occupies the other side of the street. The preserved parts constitute a complex that has been designated as a cultural heritage monument.
