Description
Deutsch: Der Wusterhauser Bär im Köllnischen Park am Märkischen Museum in Berlin-Mitte, der letzte erhaltene Teil der unter dem Großen Kurfürsten angelegten Memhardtschen Stadtbefestigung aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Der kleine Turm stand ursprünglich in der Mitte eines Wehrs im südlichen Festungsgraben auf Höhe der Bastion VI der Festungsanlage; mit diesem Wehr wurde der Wasserstand im Festungsgraben reguliert. Die Bezeichnung "Bär" leitet sich vom Lateinischen berum=Wehr ab. Nach Trockenlegung des Festungsgrabens stand der Turm auf dem Grundstück Neue Jakobstraße 10. Er wurde 1893 in den Köllnischen Park versetzt. Bereits 1801 war er bei einer Reparatur praktisch neu errichtet wurden. Eine Gedenktafel erinnert an eine weitere Reparatur im Jahr 1718. Der Wusterhauser Bär ist als Teil des Bauensembles Am Köllnischen Park denkmalgeschützt.
