Scenes on the right, from the top down, include: linga worship, ascetic with consort, nature scene with peacock, a telamon, and a naga. In the center are elephants, chandrashalas, and a surasundari. At left: transporting household goods, an ascetic and his consort with a folding table, and a nature scene with an elephant. Taken together, these scenes seem to tell a story about a Shiva-worshiper who removes himself and his household to live in the woods as an ascetic, and subsequently is inspired to found a temple -- perhaps Mukteshvara itself. |
