Deutsch: Denkmal für den ersten Missionsbischof Fridrik und seinen Begleiter Þorvaldur Víðförli, die am Vatnsdalsfjall in Nordisland 981 ihre Missionstätigkeit begannen und 15 Jahre lang betrieben.
English: Memorial commemorating 1000 years of Christian mission in Iceland (981–1981) with depiction of Fridrik Biskup ('Bishop Friedrich') and his follower, Þorvaldur víðförli ('Thorvald Far-Farer'), the earliest Christian missionaries documented in Iceland. Their missionary work on the Vatnsdalsfjall mountain in Northwestern Region lasted fifteen years, from 981 to 996, and is credited with the Christianization of the Vatnsdalur and western Skagi peninsula – though its broader impact was minimal.
