DescriptionBlack Rocks surf, South Bay, Scarborough - geograph.org.uk - 767371.jpg |
English: Black Rocks surf, South Bay, Scarborough This photograph of Scarborough's South Bay was taken from White Nab. Part of Wheatcroft Cliff can be seen in the foreground and beyond that can be seen the landscaped remains of the land slip that caused the Holbeck Hall Hotel to collapse between the night of 3 June and 5 June 1993.
The surf is generated by the stratum of rocks (Black Rocks) and which are exposed at low tide. Scarborough castle can be seen in the distance on the prominent headland, and beneath that the town of Scarborough. Keywords: Cliffs, bay, surf, landslip, castle, town. |
