| Description |
English: Blackpool Standard tram No. 40 at Crich Tramway Village Built in 1926 for Blackpool Corporation, whose system is still running, this is an open balcony car, so called because both ends of the top deck are without windows. This was the last open balcony car to run in public service in the UK. The photograph shows the interlaced (or gauntlet) tracks used to permit the double track running line to pass through the restricted width of the Bowes Lyon Bridge. |
