Description
Deutsch: Marmorpalais im Neuen Garten Potsdam. Der kleine Saal wurde 1847 mit einem von Stucksäulen und Pilastern eingefassten Alkhoven eingerichtet und diente wechselweise als Schlaf- oder Speisezimmer. Der Historienmaler August Kloeber führte 1845-47 die großen Wandgemälde mit mythologischen und allegorischen Darstellungen aus. Zur besseren Belichtung der Gemälde wurde 1854 ein Oberlicht eingebaut. Das Hauptgemälde (Foto rechts) zeigt die auf einer Muschel aus dem Meer steigende Venus.
