| Description |
English: Bo-Peep Tunnel, Eastern Portal Taken from the footbridge of St Leonards Warrior Square station looking towards the entrance to Bo-Peep Tunnel. The tunnel was opened in 1851 having been constructed by the SER to connect their line from Tunbridge Wells to Hastings and is 1318 yards long. The station was opened in 1851 as Gensing Station after the manor in which it is located and was changed to its current name in 1870. That year also marked the first time trains from the LBSCR were allowed to stop at the station. Previously their stock had to run through non-stop to Hastings. |
