Türkçe: Gümüşlük doğal güzellikleri ve tertemiz plajları ile ön plana çıkıyor olsa da aslında çok eski çağlara uzanan bir tarih de sizi bekliyor olacak. Özellikle kadim uygarlıklara ait eserleri incelemekten hoşlanıyorsanız Gümüşlük’te gezebileceğiniz pek çok tarihi mekan bulunuyor.
Gümüşlük’te yer alan en önemli nokta, antik dönemlerde Ana Tanrıça’ya tapınmak amaçlı inşa edilmiş olan Myndos Antik Şehri. Bu antik şehre ait eserler günümüze kadar ulaşmamış olsa da bazı kalıntılara halen rastlamak mümkün. Modern Gümüşlük, tam olarak bu antik kentin üzerine kurulmuş. Gümüşlük sadece meşhur komutan Büyük İskender tarafından da ele geçirilmeye çalışılmış bir yer. İskender’in orduları şehri kuşatmış olsa da doğal korunaklı yapısı nedeniyle İskender bu bölgeyi ele geçiremeden uzaklaşmış. Yine aynı sebepten dolayı, Roma İmparatorluğu’na karşı isyan eden Brütüs tarafından bu şehir ana karargah olarak kullanılmış. |
