Summary[edit]
DescriptionBone fragments from the victims (14064610409).jpg | Here is a bone fragment that has been unearthed during the rains in the past. Keepers at the site later collect them and put them into glass cases. While the extermination of nearly 3 million innocent civilians by a mad criminal is tragic in itself, an even bigger tragedy is that when Vietnam invaded and drove the lunatic Pol Pot into the forest, he had a pretty cushy life there. While he was in exile, he married again, and although he suffered a stroke, he managed to exterminate his closest confidante Son Sen and his entire family, as he suspected that Sen was negotiating with the Cambodian govt, for a surrender of the Khmer Rouge. Son sen, his wife and nearly a dozen of his family members had been shot and then run over by a truck. This incident however led to the psycopath Pol Pot's undoing in a way, as many of his own officials then started turning against him. Still, he lived upto the ripe old age of 82 and died of natural causes, without facing trial or being punished for his heinous crimes. (Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Apr/ May 2014) |
