Summary[edit]

Description
English: In the arid regions of western India, stepwells were a means to cope with seasonal fluctuations in water availability. The more celebrated ones were bulit by kings and queens; others, by those historically unkown. Like this one from the small town of Borsad in Gujarat, India. Built in 1497 by Vasu Soma and his family.
