Summary[edit]
DescriptionBoughton Pumping Station - geograph.org.uk - 879816.jpg |
English: Boughton Pumping Station The gate was open and we helped ourselves on a Sunday afternoon.
This was the huge building with two Ashton, Frost combined horizontal/vertical triple expansion pumping engines operating well and force pumps. I was with the late George Cooper and the first time he visited was just as the scrapmen were finishing up on those lovely engines. They were burning waste in the boilers, producing smoke and false hopes. |
