Description
Nederlands: 4 Chinook-transporthelikopters gooiden al bijna 500.000 liter water op de vuurzee in natuurgebied de Deurnsche Peel. Daar woedt sinds gisteren een grote brand.

De blushelikopters van het Defensie Helikopter Commando hebben een oranje waterzak onder het toestel hangen, een zogenoemde bambi-bucket. Daarmee zijn ze in staat per keer zo’n 10.000 liter water te lozen. Ze halen het water uit de nabij gelegen plas De Brink.

Gisteren werd al een 1e Chinook ingezet. De extra heli-assistentie werd vandaag ingeroepen omdat de wind veranderde. Dat wakkerde het vuur aan.

Een getraind Fire Bucket Operations Team coördineert de inzet op de grond. Dat gebeurt onder leiding van de civiele brandweer.
