English: Bridge remnants, near Wootton Rivers, Marlborough There were two bridges here, as can be seen. At one time, before the 1923 grouping of the railway companies, the mighty Great Western Railway had a track parallel to the much smaller Midland and South Western Junction Railway. These ran between Marlborough and Savernake, which each had separate stations as well. Much more can be found here. http://www.swindonsotherrailway.co.uk/ The bridge nearer the camera belonged to the M&SWJR. Keyword:M&SWJR |
