| Description |
English: Bridleway off Hogshaw Road near Granborough This bridleway runs south for about 1.5km from Deadman's Corner on Hogshaw Road behind the camera, to Stonehill Farm on the C road coming from North Marston. The bridleway lies on the line of a Roman road which beyond Stonehill Farm continues south in a straight line as a C road for 3km. This was a local road linking a religious site at Thornborough, east of Buckingham, with a now vanished settlement at Fleet Marston near Waddesdon. Until the mid-18th century, this was also the course of the main London - Aylesbury - Buckingham - Birmingham road, before its route was moved to the present A413 on higher ground to the east. |
