Description
English: Bridleway sign in Lincolnshire
  • The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 reclassified "Road Used as a Public Path" to the new category of "Restricted Byways" available to users on foot, cycle or horseback but not to mechanically propelled vehicles.
  • Since 2nd May 2006 it has been illegal to drive many rights of way with a motorised vehicle such as a 4x4 or motorbike. Lincolnshire County Council have been very prompt in erecting these "no motor vehicle" signs. However, they do seem to be a bit over enthusiastic as this bridleway, 405472, and the one in 405467 were never really accessible by motor vehicles.
