Description

Brocal labrado en un bloque de mármol único. Según la ficha CERES, este brocal se realizó, según indica la inscripción, por encargo de Al-Zahir, el primero de los reyes de la dinastía de los Du-l-nunies de Toledo, para celebrar el fin de la construcción, en el año 423 de la Hëgira (1032), de una cisterna de la Mezquita-aljama de Toledo que estuvo situada en el emplazamiento de la actual Catedral.

Otra pequeña inscripción da el nombre del escultor: Ibn Muhammad. Los rebajes en el borde son debidos al roce de las cuerdas.
