Description
Español: Bromelia serra, conocido localmente en la Region del Chaco como chaguar o cardo gancho (por las espinas curvas como ganchos que cubren el borde de sus hojas. Junto con el cardo chuza (Aechmea distichantha Lem.) habita los perímetros del bosque chaqueño ("monte") hacia formaciones más abiertas y bajas, por ende están expuestos a una mayor insolación, mayores temperaturas, mayor evaporación y menor humedad que el cardo caraguatá (Pseudoananas macrodontes),cuyo hábitat es el sotobosque, en el interior del bosque. Las tres especies pertenecen a la familia de las Bromeliáceas.
English: Bromelia serra, known in the Chaco as "Chaguar" or " Cardo Gancho" (for the curved spines - like hooks - that cover the edge of the leaves). Along with the "Cardo Chuza" (Aechmea distichantha Lem.) Lives in the perimeters Chaco forest ("monte"), open areas where they are most exposed to sunlight, high temperatures, increased evaporation and less moisture than "Cardo Caraguatá" (Pseudoananas macrodontes), whose habitat is the understory, inside the forest with a moist environment and less exposed to sunlight. The three species belong to the family of Bromeliáceas.
