English: Down (northbound) freight at Bromfield. View SE, towards Hereford on the ex-GW&LNW Joint Shrewsbury - Hereford main line. Seen from the Up platform of the former station (closed 9/6/58), the Class E freight is headed by No. 48470, which was one of the Stanier 8F 2-8-0s built at Swindon in 1943-45 and employed on the GWR until 1947, but returned later to BR(WR) for many years, but eventually withdrawn 11/67 from Patricroft LMR. |
