Summary[edit]

Description
English: The original A Team. The First Technical Service Detachment on Tinian Island in the Pacific Ocean. They prepared the "Fat Man" and "Little Boy" Atomic Bombs. Here is a large part of the United States scientific and technical intelligentsia. The other part was back in Los Alamos, New Mexico under the protection of the Counter Intelligence Corps. In the center of the picture is Thomas F. Farrell and William S. Parsons. Bud Uanna was in command of this detachment. Bud Uanna's part in the Manhattan Project was well known and had this photo and it's negative, yet he was not mentioned by General Leslie Groves in his book Now It Can Be Told - 1962. This puzzled Uanna's son as he began his research into his father's career and death after the movie Enola Gay came out in November of 1980.
