Description
Information added by Wikimedia users.
Aviator Bruno Büchner with his Otto / AGO biplane and a native honor guard on an improvised flying field near Daressalam. Surprised by the outbreak of World War I, Büchner, on a demonstration tour through German East Afrika enlisted himself and his plane with the 'Schutztruppen'. Dobbertin called this picture Self-built seaplane and The only airplane. Our self-built waterplane. Aparently a reference to the fact that Büchner would later modify this plane and equip it with floats
