For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, Gaststudent im Gespräch Zentralbild Illner 18.4.1952 Internationale Widerstandskämpfer ehren Ernst Thälmann. Am 66. Geburtstag vón Ernst Thälmann ehrten die Leipziger Bevölkerung und internationale Widerstandskämpfer, die zum Buchenwaldtreffen nach Deutschland gekommen waren, sein Andenken mit einer Feier in der Leipziger Kongreßhalle. UBz: Ein Jugendfreund aus Nigeria, der in Leipzig auf der Arbeiter- und Bauernfakultät studiert, übergab dem westdeutschen Freund Günther Hahne aus Stuttgart Adressen von Freunden aus Nigeria, die in Gefängnissen sitzen, weil sie sich für den Frieden eingesetzt haben.
