For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Thieme-29.1.82-Bez.Karl-Marx-Stadt: Wettbewerb. Mechanikerlehrling Ellen Hirschmann (v.) montiert Hermetikverdichter, die Herzstücke der Kühlschränke, im VEB dkk Scharfenstein. In diesem Jahr fertigt der Betrieb 9000 Haushaltskühlschränke, 1300 Verdichter sowie Ersatzteile für 2,6, Millionen Mark über den Staatsplan hinaus. Durch umfassende Rationallisierungsmaßmnahmen soll dieser hohe Leistungsanstieg erschlossen werden.
