For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Waldsieversdorf, Zapfenernte, Zapfenpflücker ADN-ZB Müller-17.12.1984 Bez. Frankfurt-Oder: Zapfenernte. Voll im Gange ist gegenwärtig die Zapfenernte auf den Sortensamenplantagen der Versuchsstation für Forstfplanzenzüchtung des Instituts für Forstwissenschaften in Waldsieversdorf. Um 1, 2 Kilogramm Kiefernsaatgut zu gewinnen, müsen Günter Söhnel und weitere Pflückeer etwa 50 Kilogramm Zapfen ernten. Zur Samengewinnung werden die Zapfen geklengt, d.h. sie werden bei einer Temperaur von 40 Grad in rotierenden Trommeln bewegt, wobei die Samen herausfallen. Das genetisch verbesserte Saatgut wird dann an Forstbaumschulen geliefert. - siehe auch 1984-1217-7N -
