For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Schulz 27.10.1987 mx-Bez. Magdeburg: Wolldeckenfabrik. Seit 200 Jahren werden in Calbe an der Saale Wolldecken gewebt. Die reine Handarbeit der einstigen Tuchmacher wurde bald durch den mechanischen Webstuhl ersetzt. Heute bedient eine Arbeitskraft vier leistungsfähige Webautomaten gleichzeitig. Die Wolldeckenfabrik Calbe stellt in diesem Jahr 200.000 mollige Decken verschiedener Arten und Dessins her.
