For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Diesdorf, Bauer bei der Zeitungslektüre Zentralbild Biscan-9.7.1953 Bauern antworten Otto Grotewohl Ministerpräsident Grotewohl dankt in einem Brief den Bauern für ihre Arbeit an der Sicherung der Ernährung des Volkes, zählt eine Reihe von Massnahmn auf, die in der letzten Zeit zugunsten der Bauern und übrigen Bevölkerung ergriffen wurden und fordert sie auf, alle Kraft für eine baldige Einbringung der Ernte einzusetzen. "Ihre ordnungsgemäße Ablieferung wiegt schwer auf der Waagschale zugunsten des Friedens unter den Völkern und der Herstellung eines einheitlichen demokratischen Deutschlands". heisst es in dem Brief. Der offene Brief des Ministerpräsidenten wird überall auf dem Lande aufmerksam gelesen. UBz: Der werktätige Bauer Friedrich Hilliger, Diesdorf, erklärte: "Was Otto Grotewohl hier an die Bauern geschrieben hat, muss man gut heissen. Die Regierung hat unter anderm erkannt, dass die grösseren Wirtschaften oft zu hoch veranlagt waren. Die Herabsetzung der Ablieferungssätze kommt auch mir zugute, weil ich zur Zeit die größte Wirtschaft im Ort habe.
