For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Biscan 10.8.1953 SOS an der Ostseeküste. Der Wasserrettungsdienst des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes in den Ostseebädern. Das Deutsche Rote Kreuz hat 1953 in den Ostseebädern einen Wasserrettungsdienst eingerichtet, der mit erfahrenen Rettungsschwimmern besetzt ist und die Aufgabe hat, in Ertrinkungsgefahr geratene Feriengäste zu retten. - Unser Reporter fotografierte den Wasserrettungsdienst von Graal-Müritz über und unter Wasser. UBz: Wieder ein Schwimmer in Gefahr. An einem schönen, aber kalten und stürmischen Tag hat sich ein Schwimmer weit hinaus gewagt. Nicht nur der Rettungsschwimmer des Deutschen Roten Kreuzes, sondern alle Feriengäste beobachten, wie er mit den Wellen kämpft. Der Rettungsienst hat das Warnungshorn bereits mehrmals ertönen lassen. Wenn es notwendig ist, wird er ausfahren, um den leichtsinnigen Schwimmer unter Lebensgefahr hereinzuholen. |
