For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild TBD Wittig 19.10.1953 Vo-Wi Junge Arbeiter beantragen ihre Aufnahme in die Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands. Die beiden Feinmechaniker-Lehrlinge Elke Waligura und Ursula Roppel vom VEB-RFT-Röhrenwerk in Erfurt, beantragten zur Delegiertenkonferenz der Betriebsparteiorganisation ihres Werkes ihre Aufnahme als Kandidaten in die SED. Beide tragen das Abzeichen für "Gutes Wissen", beide haben die Bedingungen für das Sportleistungsabzeichen erfüllt. Augenblicklich bereiten sie sich auf ihre Facharbeiterprüfung vor. UBz: Elke Waligura und Ursula Roppel arbeiten gemeinsam um ihre Facharbeiterprüfung im Januar 1954 mit einer guten Note zu bestehen."
