Volksbühne Berlin am 21.4.1954 eröffnet
Der Präsident der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik, Wilhelm Pieck, zahlreiche Mitglieder der Regierung, namhafte Vertreter der Kunst und Wissenschaft wohnten der Eröffnungsfeier der Volksbühne Berlin am Luxemburgerplatz am Abend des 21. April 1954 bei.
Das Ensemble der wiedererbauten Volksbühne unter der Leitung des Intendanten Nationalpreisträger Fritz Wisten eröffnete das Haus mit Schillers "Wilhelm Tell."
