For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.

Zentralbild Mellahn 22.12.1958 Rostock: 3000-Tonnen-Frachter der Neptunwerft zukünftig nach halbjähriger Bauzeit fertig. Die bewährten und international stark beachteten 3000-Tonnen-Frachter aus dem Produktionsprogramm der Rostocker Neptunwerft, von denen bereits mehr als 30 auf allen Meeren der Erde zu Hause sind, sollen künftig in einer Gesamtbauzeit von etwa einem halben Jahr pro Schiff hergestellt werden. Damit soll das Bautempo auf westdeutschen Werften zum Teil bereits überboten werden. Dies wurde jetzt auf einer politisch-ökonomischen Konferenz mit 450 der besten Produktionsarbeiter, Techniker und Ingenieure des Rostocker Schiffbaubetriebes bekannt.

UB.z.: Blick auf fast fertige 3000-Tonnen-Frachter, die für Sowjetunion bestimmt sind. Links der Frachter TURKISTAN, dessen Probefahrt für Februar 1959 vorgesehen war, der jedoch noch in diesem Jahr fertiggestellt werden soll. Damit wird das Exportprogramm der Werft um einen 3000-Tonnen-Frachter übererfüllt werden.
