For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Montage zu Schluckimpfung in BRD
Zentralbild Schulz 1.7.1961 DDR frei von Polio - 42 Opfer in Westdeutschland Fielen der Poliomyelitis 1960 in der DDR 4 Menschen zum Opfer, so waren es in Westdeutschland im gleichen Zeitraum 250 Personen. In Westdeutschland fielen der Poliomyelitisepidemie in diesem Jahr bereits 42 jungen Menschen zum Opfer. Insgesamt wurden mehr als 650 Erkrankungen gemeldet. Demgegenüber erkrankte in der DDR nur ein Kind, eines der wenigen, die nicht gegen Kinderlähmung immunisiert wurden. |
