Neubrandenburg, Ernst-Thälmann-Straße Zentralbild Sturm Lb-At. 14.3.1962 Neubrandenburg: Das neue Leben zog in eine alten Stadt Neubrandenburg, durch den Krieg stark zerstört, ist heute eine neue moderne Stadt. In den letzten vier Jahren wurden 3500 neue Wohnungen gebaut. Um 10.000 Menschen wuchs die Einwohnerzahl nach den Zerstörungen im 2. Weltkrieg bis auf 35 000. Der Staat der Arbeiter und Bauern investierte seit Baubeginn 50 Millionen DM in diese Stadt. Zahlreiche Hausgemeinschaften halfen beim Bau von Kinderplätzen und bei der Verschönerung der Strassen.
