For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Warnemünde, Leuchtturm Zentralbild Biscan 2.10.1963 60 Jahre Fährverbindung Warnemünde-Gedser Am 1.Oktober 1903, also vor 60 Jahre, wurde die erste deutsche Hochseefähre in Betrieb genommen, die Fährverbindung Warnemünde-Gedser. Diese kürzeste Verbindung zwischen der Südspitze der dänischen Insel Falster und der mecklenburgischen Küste ist 44 Kilometer lang und von dern Fährschiffen in etwa zwei Stunden zurückgelegt. Von 1945 bis 1947 ruhte der Betrieb. Dann wurde der Fährverkehr auf diese Route von den Dänischen Staatsbahnen mit dem Fährschiff "Danmark" wieder aufgenommen. Seit einigen Monaten verkehrt zwischen Warnemünde und Gedser die "Warnemünde", ein modernes Fährschiff, das im Sommer vorigen Jahres auf der Neptunwerft in Warnemünde vom Stapel lief. Die "Warnemünde" kann 11 D-Zug oder 30 Güterwagen aufnehmen und bietet 800 Fahrgästen bequem Platz. UBz: Die " Warnemünde" läuft in Warnemünde ein . Im Vordergrund der Leuchtturm.
