For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Agrarflieger zur Kartoffelkäferbekämpfung Zentralbild Siegert Nl-At. 2.7.1964 Bezirk Dresden: Kartoffelkäferbekämpfung vom Flugzeug aus. Erstmalig wurde in den Kreisen Riesa und Meißen die Bekämpfung des Kartoffelkäfers vom Flugzeug aus vorgenommen. Auf unserem Foto wird das Sprühmittel in die Maschine, ein Flugzeug vom Typ L 60, getankt. In Riesa wurden 1200 ha und in Meißen 2700 ha mit dem hochkonzentrierten Dimuxan besprüht. Die Genossenschaftsbauern sprachen sich sehr lobend über die gute und preisgünstige Arbeit aus. Der Hektar kostet 1.- DM.
