For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
LPG Laubedorf, Gerstenernte Zentralbild Schutt 4.7.1964 Bezirk Cottbus: LPG Laubedorf begann mit der Ernte der Wintergerste. Die LPG "Neues Leben" (Typ III) in Laubsdorf, Kreis Cottbus-Land, hielt in diesen Tagen Generalprobe zur diesjährigen Getreideernte ab. Von einem 5-Hektar-Schlag wurde im Schwaddrusch Wintergerste eingebracht. Auf unserem Foto folgt dem Mähdrescher die Räum- und Sammelpresse. Um Tempo und Qualität geht es den Genossenschaftsbauern von Laubdorf. Überwiegend wird der Schwaddrusch bei der Getreideernte angewandt und somit Zeit gewonnen. Das Stroh wird sofort vom Feld geräumt, nachts wird geschält und die ersten Zwischenfrüchte kommen in den nächsten Tagen in den Boden.
